ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

This position is currently scheduled to teach remotely on Tuesdays and Thursdays, (7:30am - 9:14 am); a college level course for a local high school. Candidates must reside within a commuting distance to one of CCC's campuses.
The teaching position begins March 10, 2022.

AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

One hour per week office time to meet with students outside of class.

MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree in American Sign Language/Deaf Education or, if a native signer, equivalent as determined by CCC ASL faculty and department chair. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described.

The ability to communicate effectively as a teacher and to operate as an effective member of a team.

Ability to exemplify traits that reflect the College's culture, including integrity, a customer service orientation, cultural competency, trustworthiness, flexibility and a willingness to change.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the use of step stools in order to retrieve archived materials. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis such as papers, files, boxes, equipment, computers, etc., and rarely requires moving materials weighing over 25 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.

Works under the general direction of the Department Chair.
